Gong Sun Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Herbology
My practice of Acupuncture and Herbology reflects the variety of traditions I have had the opportunity to learn, from many incredible teachers who have shared their medicine. I hope to support each individual in their renegotiation with balance and to assist in the co-creation of conditions for optimum healing, always with attention to how we may align with the flow of time and season. I continue to learn from every person I meet in clinic, and feel a sense of wonder and great fortune to witness so many unique lives.
I hope to approach the herbs with veneration for the healing spirit of the plants, minerals, and other substances of the Materia Medica, and how they can compliment and support the vitality of each person at that very moment. Traditional Chinese Herbal Formulas resemble complex, exquisite musical compositions - an elegant dance of interactions. The individual herbs work together in great harmony to help return the body to balance, considering our whole person and not just a disease pattern. When we bring these herbs into the terrain of our being, we become part of this symphony of engagement. The plants have been my teachers, as well as those who have shared their message, reminding us of the inter-relationship of all life, and the importance of the cultivation of reciprocity.
I am humbled by the beauty of this medicine, and by how much can be addressed when we begin to deeply listen to the subtle and less-subtle communications of the body. Acupuncture encourages the free flow of energy (Qi) where there have been disruptions, honoring our body’s inherent wisdom and innate capacity for self-regulation and healing.
